Steam App revealed for smartphones
This could prove damaging to your wallets and you HDD space...
Valve has announced a new Steam App that they are testing for iOS and Android smartphones.
Right now the Steam App is in a closed beta test phase but it will allow Steam users to chat with friends, check out community groups and user profiles as well as gaming news and peruse the latest deals on Steam.
Gabe Newell, Valve president enthused: "The Steam app comes from many direct requests from our customers. Seeing which of your friends are online and playing a game, sending quick messages, looking at screenshots for an upcoming game, or catching a sale - these are all features customers have requested. Mobile is changing way people interact, play games and consume media, and the Steam app is part of our commitment to meet customer demands and expand the service functionality of Steam to make it richer and more accessible for everyone."
To join the closed beta simply download the Steam App from the App Store or the Android Marketplace and sign in with your Steam ID. You will be added as and when Valve needs to increase the amount of testers.
