The mobile edition of indie hit Minecraft has been proving as intensely popular as its PC bigger brother.

Mojang's Daniel Kaplan has revealed that Minecraft Pocket Edition has managed to sell over 700,000 copies across iOS, and Xperia platforms in just under two months.

Kaplan Tweeted excitedly: "We have sold over 700 000 copies. That is quite impressive, since the game was launched almost two months ago."

Minecraft Pocket Edition is available on App Store, Android Marketplace and Xperia for 4.99 GBP. There is also a free version available in the form of Minecraft Pocket Edition Lite.
