Dead Island sales shambles past the 3 million mark

Techland's first-person survival hit reaches an impressive milestone

Techland and Deep Silver's hit zombie survival horror title has reached an impressive sales milestone.

After overcoming some initial supply issues Dead Island has managed to sell over 3 million copies even at the inflated prices that some retailers were selling it at shortly after release.

Dead Island also had to overcome the release of the wrong build of the game through Steam meaning that Techland had a frantic time trying to patch the game to get it to the release version.

The success of the title has attracted the interest of Hollywood with Lionsgate picking up the rights to bring Dead Island to the silver screen.
