Dirt to get dirtier in 2012

Dirt Showdown unveiled

Codmasters have revealed a new take on their Dirt rally series to hit the roads later this year.

Dirt Showdown will bring in more of the extreme sports elements of Dirt 2 and the Gymkhana events from Dirt 3 as well as adding a Destruction Derby-style damage element to the gameplay.

The game, which Codemasters insists is a spin-off and not the next full Dirt title, will also add eight-player multiplayer, crazier cars and international locations ranging from London to San Francisco.

Dirt Showdown will be out on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC in May of 2012.
