Piracy rife on iPhone
Developer worried by illegal downloads
The iPhone may be the next big thing in gaming, but according to one developer the system has a bigger piracy problem than Somalia.
Speaking to Develop, game maker Smells Like Donkey says that the console has undiagnosed problems related to game piracy - with up to 80 percent of Tap-Fu downloads being illegal.
Apparently, pirating games on the handset is easier than might be expected because of a kernel patch that negates Apple's security systems. Apparently, this kernel is readily available online.
Tap-Fu costs 1.99 USD on the app store, but it seems the game isn't selling in legitimate quantities as its developer might have hoped.
