Steve Jobs took to the stage at an event yesterday for the first time since recovering from illness, the big cheese confirming that 10 is on the way to an App Store release for the and iPod Touch.

In addition, Jobs highlighted the impact of the App Store digital download platform, claiming that over 21,000 games are available for Apple's devices, in contrast to the 607 for Sony's and the 3,680 on the DS.

A price cut for the was also ushered in, the 8Gb model falling from 229 USD to 199 USD, the 32Gb dropping to 299 USD and the 64Gb edition falling to 399 USD.

Madden NFL 10, meanwhile, hits the App Store today costing 9.99 USD (or 7.99 USD just for today). The game was demonstrated on stage at Apple's shindig.
